Wage disputes in South Africa are common – Especially with big employers such as mines but this is not to say that smaller employers are not affected. We have found that even smaller car dealerships and petrol stations are impacted by wage disputes.
There are mainly disputes of right and disputes of interest. A dispute of interest relates to wage disputes.
There is no legal requirement on an employer to provide an increase or additional benefits that are not included in the contract of employment or are deemed as a right, safe to say where it is legislated or agreed to.
Such aspects are negotiated between the employer and employee.
At SA Labour Dynamics we are able to negotiate and facilitate such process of negotiation with the intent to avoid potential industrial action.
